Profiles

A profile is a complete HyperSwitcher setup. Switching profiles changes its shortcuts and behavior immediately.

What changes with a profile

Each profile keeps its own:

app shortcuts, Shortcut Groups, and both window-cycle shortcuts;
Hyper key authority, physical key, and modifier choice;
app, window, and temporary-shortcut behavior;
Quick Layout, Workspaces, resize grid, gaps, appearance, and Tidy Up settings;
focus flash, reopened-window placement, and precise-focus choices;
Experimental Shortcut Replay setting.

Your license, login item, Dock preference, onboarding state, command-line installation, and anonymous telemetry identity are shared. Each Mac also remembers its own active-profile choice.

Live Workspace sessions are not stored in a profile. Switching profiles ends them.

Switch profiles

Choose a profile from Menu bar → Profile, or click Active Profile at the top of the Settings sidebar. The command-line tool can list and switch profiles too.

Create or edit a profile

Open Menu bar → Profile → Manage Profiles…, or use the Active Profile row in Settings:

Duplicate Selected Profile copies the current behavior, which is best for a small variation.
New Empty Profile starts from HyperSwitcher’s defaults.

Select a profile to activate it, or use its edit button to change its name and icon. You can delete any profile as long as one remains.

All profiles live in the same settings file. To move them together to another Mac, follow Back up or move your settings.
