Set it up in HyperSwitcher.

Start with the window or app you reach for most.

  1. Choose your Hyper key

Install HyperSwitcher, allow Accessibility access, and choose Caps Lock as your Hyper key during setup. Hyper lets one physical key act as a set of shortcut modifiers.

  2. Assign a letter to an app

Open Settings → Apps, find Safari, and select its shortcut recorder. Press S on its own; HyperSwitcher adds the Hyper modifiers. Repeat with M for Mail or C for Calendar.

  3. Jump there from another app

Hold Caps Lock, press S, then release. Safari opens if it is closed or comes forward if it is already running. Use the same gesture with your other assigned letters.

A few useful details.

Can I keep my existing Hyper key setup?

Yes. Choose External app as the Hyper key authority if another utility already supplies Hyper. Match HyperSwitcher’s modifier settings to that utility, including Shift if your setup uses it.

Can I try app shortcuts for free?

Yes. The free version supports four active shortcuts shared between apps, Finder folders, and temporary shortcuts. A license unlocks unlimited assignments and Shortcut Groups.

Try it with your own windows.
