This release adds live Workspaces, Shortcut Groups, animated window placement, clearer shortcut troubleshooting, and more control over minimized windows.

New

• Workspaces let you build a live multi-window layout for each display and Space. Open the editor with Hyper + Space, add or swap windows, move the Workspace to another display, bring its windows forward again, or assign a shortcut to cycle through them. Workspaces last for the current app session and require an active license.
• Shortcut Groups let you assign one Hyper shortcut to an ordered set of related apps. Repeated presses move through the group, skipping apps that are not running. You can choose which app opens when none are running, or have the shortcut do nothing. Shortcut Groups require an active license.
• Each app shortcut now has its own Minimized windows setting. Include minimized windows in the cycle, or keep them out while visible windows are available.
• HyperSwitcher now reports missing permissions, built-in Hyper key problems, and shortcuts that macOS could not register. The menu bar and Settings take you directly to the relevant fix.

Changes

• Quick Layout and Workspaces can now animate windows as they move and resize. You can turn the animation off or adjust its duration, and Reduce Motion is respected.
• Keep holding Hyper after an app or temporary shortcut to continue into Quick Layout for the window you just selected. The reveal delay restarts after the shortcut, so quick app switches stay out of the way.
• Apps settings can now filter shortcuts by assigned, conflicting, or unavailable status.
• Onboarding has been redesigned around setting up Hyper, creating and trying your first shortcut, and practicing Quick Layout with the real Settings window. You can restart it at any time from Advanced settings.
• The built-in Hyper key now shares the Accessibility permission used for window features and no longer needs Input Monitoring.

Fixes

• Quick Layout appears and responds faster, with smoother and more stable animations.
• Layout Creator no longer gets replaced by a delayed Quick Layout. Invalid or duplicate placements now show quiet visual feedback instead of playing the system alert sound.
• The Accessibility permission screen now settles into the correct completed state after access is granted.

First-time setup is now a hands-on walkthrough. This release also adds a telemetry control and better VoiceOver support.

• The new onboarding helps you choose an app, create your first shortcut, try it, and practice Quick Layout with the real Settings window.
• You can turn off anonymous telemetry in General settings. App and window names are never sent.
• Settings has quick ways to share HyperSwitcher or send feedback.

• Diagnostic exports now include locally stored macOS crash and hang reports when available. They are never uploaded automatically.

This update focuses on temporary shortcuts, faster switching, and more useful window cleanup.

New

• Create temporary shortcuts from Quick Layout. Hold Hyper until Quick Layout appears, then press an unused app key to save a shortcut for the focused app or the current window.
• Temporary window shortcuts can take you back to a specific window until it closes. Temporary app shortcuts disappear automatically when the app quits.
• Quick Layout and Layout Creator can now use Vim navigation keys. Turn on H, J, K, and L in Layout settings.
• Tidy Up can now bring windows back on screen, fit oversized windows, clear tiny overlaps, even out split gaps, and align nearby edges.
• Profiles can now have icons, and the active profile appears in the Settings sidebar.
• HyperSwitcher has a refreshed app icon.

• App shortcuts now stay direct, even when held. Use temporary shortcuts from Quick Layout when you want a session-only app or window jump.
• Profile selection now stays local to each Mac, so syncing or copying profiles does not force every Mac to use the same active profile.
• Settings rows in General and Layout are clearer and easier to scan.

• Shortcut switching and the app shortcut list are faster, especially with many running apps or windows.
• Quick Layout keeps its fast Shift controls while it is waiting to open.

This update focuses on keyboard setup, profiles, and smoother window switching.

New

• HyperSwitcher now works better with existing Hyper-key setups from Karabiner-Elements, Hyperkey, Raycast, or other tools, including setups that use Shift.
• The built-in Hyper key can now use Right Command instead of Caps Lock.
• Settings Profiles let you keep different app shortcuts, Hyper-key behavior, window switching, and layout preferences for different contexts.
• Cycle app windows gives you one shortcut for cycling windows in the app you are using, even if that app does not have its own HyperSwitcher shortcut.
• Layout can be turned off when you only want HyperSwitcher to handle app shortcuts and Cycle app windows.
• HyperSwitcher now supports macOS 15.

• Layout Creator now continues from Quick Layout. Hold Hyper, press Space, then release Hyper and keep placing windows.
• Quick Layout can restore a maximized window to its previous size with Shift.
• Onboarding and Settings have clearer guidance for Caps Lock, Right Command, profiles, permissions, and window cycling.

• App shortcuts behave better with non-US keyboard layouts and existing Hyper keys that include Shift.
• Quick Layout no longer interferes with external Hyper shortcuts while it is waiting to appear.
• Layout placement works better with apps such as After Effects and with windows that have strict size limits.
• Layout splitting is capped more clearly, so the overlay stays predictable.

After initial user feedback, I have improved the way Quick Layout and Layout Creator work. Now, they are two separate modes:

• Hold Hyper (Caps Lock): Opens Quick Layout for quick and effortless positioning and sizing of windows
• Tap Hyper (Caps Lock): Toggles the Layout Creator (use arrows to build a layout, then press enter on the windows you want to place into a layout area)

• Layout Creator has a new flow. Press Hyper by itself to open it. A new overlay appears where you can use the arrow keys to prepare a layout. Press Enter to add the currently focused window to the layout or focus a different window using the mouse or your regular Hyper-key app shortcuts.
• Quick Layout has a new compact appearance, with the full-screen overlay still available in Layout settings.
• The first Quick Layout preview now keeps the window’s current size by default. Press Shift when you want to maximize it instead, or use arrow keys to place the window in a specific layout without starting the Layout Creator.
• The menu bar menu is cleaner, with Settings and licensing actions up front and Help tucked into its own submenu.
• Layout Gaps can now be turned off by setting the gap size to 0.
